STREAM FAQ: Can the cache duration of JW Player assets be configured?

Answer. No.

JW Player strives to provide optimal performance for all publishers. To achieve this, JW Player sets cache times on our CDN for all media assets.

CDN caching applies only when an asset or playlist has already been requested within 180 seconds. If a new asset is requested for the first time, the request is processed directly by our backend servers.

Only requests containing query parameters defined by JW Player are accepted in API requests. All other query parameters are removed from the API request when processed. For more information about valid query string parameters, see Embed content with the Delivery API.
