Create reports for apps



For all apps, JWP tracks a suite of video engagement analytics. You can use these engagement analytics to help you learn more about the types of content that attract your viewers.

OTT Apps Custom Reports


Subscription or user account services can capture video engagement analytics for individual viewers. The three reports explained below will help you identify which video engagement analytics are essential to your business.

Suggested Usage Analytics Reports


Usage by Video

Discover which videos your viewers are watching. The results of this report will help you decide what content you should focus on acquiring or promoting.

Use the following steps to create a Usage by Video report:

  1. From the Custom Reports list page, click Create Report. The report creation page appears.
  2. Click Untitled Report and name the report.
  3. In the Report Settings section, for the Source of data, select OTT Apps. This option provides aggregated reporting for your apps.
  4. From the Date Range dropdown menu, select Last Month.
  5. Under Metrics, choose:
    • Under Performance: Ad Impressions, Plays, and Time Watched
    • Under Viewers: Unique Viewers

If you are not monetizing your apps with ads, omit Ad Impressions.

  1. Under Group By, choose Media under Content.
  2. Click Run Report. After the report completes, the results are displayed.
  3. Click Save.

After running this report for the first time, you can schedule your report.

Usage by Platform

Learn which platforms ā€“ for example, Roku, Fire, Apple, Android, and Web ā€“ are most popular or whether there is an impact from specific marketing campaigns.

Use the following steps to create a Usage by Platform report:

  1. From the Custom Reports list page, click Create Report. The report creation page appears.
  2. Click Untitled Report and name the report.
  3. In the Report Settings section, for the Source of data, select OTT apps. This option provides aggregated reporting for your apps.
  4. From the Date Range dropdown menu, select Last Month.
  5. Under Metrics, choose:
    • Under Performance: Ad Impressions, Plays, and Time Watched
  6. Under Group By, choose Platform under Device.
  7. Click Run Report. After the report completes, the results are displayed.
  8. Click Save.

After running this report for the first time, you can schedule your report.


Usage by Playlist

Learn how viewers navigated to your content. Use this to update and assess the contents of the home page and menu bar.

A NULL playlist in your report results indicates that viewers navigated directly to your content from external sources like social media or search engines.


Use the following steps to create a Usage by Playlist report:

  1. From the Custom Reports list page, click Create Report. The report creation page appears.
  2. Click Untitled Report and name the report.
  3. In the Report Settings section, for the Source of data, select OTT Apps. This option provides aggregated reporting for your apps.
  4. From the Date Range dropdown menu, select Last Month.
  5. Under Metrics, choose:
    • Under Performance: Ad Impressions, Time Watched, and Unique Viewers
  6. Under Group By, choose Playlist under Content.
  7. Click Run Report. After the report completes, the results are displayed.
  8. Click Save.

After running this report for the first time, you can schedule your report.
