Create and manage tags for the property

The Tags page is your central location to create, edit, merge, and delete tags across a property. Actions performed on this page will impact all tags, whether or not they are associated with media items.

When a tag is created on the Tags page, it exists at the property level but is not associated with any media.

Follow these steps to create a tag:

  1. On the Properties tab, select a property. The property settings appear.
  2. Click the Tags tab. A list of all existing tags in the property appears.
  3. Click Create tag. The Create tag popup appears.
  4. In the Tag text field, enter a unique tag name. This name will identify the tag on the Tags tab and when applying a tag on the media details page.

    Tag names are case-sensitive. Different casings of an existing tag name are accepted as separate tags. Additionally, ending whitespaces are removed.

  5. Click Create.

    💡

    If the tag does not immediately appear in the Tag table, you can click the refresh button above the top right corner of the table.

  6. (Optional) Repeat steps 3-5 to create another tag.
  7. (Optional) Add one or more tags to a media item.

You can edit an existing tag to give it a new name. Editing the tag name can only be done on the Tags page.

All tag instances across your media will be updated upon editing a tag name. The new tag name may take several minutes to propagate to all media items.

Follow these steps to edit a tag:

  1. On the Properties tab, select a property. The property settings appear.
  2. On the Tags tab, in the row of your desired tag, click the pencil icon. The Edit tag popup appears.
  3. Under Tag text, enter a new tag name.
  4. Click Save.

    💡

    If the tag does not immediately appear in the Tag table, you can click the refresh button above the top right corner of the table.



Merge tags

You can merge two or more similar tags to streamline your media organization.

When you merge tags, all tag instances across your media are updated. The merged tags may take several minutes to propagate.

Merging tags is irreversible.

Follow these steps to merge tags:

  1. On the Properties tab, select a property. The property settings appear.
  2. On the Tags tab, select two or more tags.
  3. Click Merge tags. The Merge tags panel appears.
  4. Select your desired tag. All unselected tags will be deleted and replaced with the selected tag across your media.
  5. Click Merge tags. The tags are merged.

    💡

    If the tag does not appear in the Tag table after several minutes, you can click the refresh button above the top right corner of the table.

You can delete tags from your property. Deleting a tag removes it from the Tags page and disassociates it from all tagged media items.

Deleting a tag from your property is irreversible.

Follow these steps to delete one or more tags:

  1. On the Properties tab, select a property. The property settings appear.
  2. On the Tags tab, select one or more tags.
  3. Click Delete. The Delete tags popup appears.
  4. Click Delete.

    💡

    If the tag is not removed from the Tag table after several minutes, you can click the refresh button above the top right corner of the table.
