Playlist Overview
With a playlist, you can engage your viewers with a collection of your videos. JWP allows you to create several types of playlists: manual, dynamic, trending, recommendations, search, and article matching.
The table and sections below explain the usage and implementation of each type of playlist.
Type | Description |
---|---|
Dynamic | A Dynamic playlist automatically orders videos based on a sort type. The possible sort types are:
When an editor adds new videos to the library that match the rules you have defined, the new videos will be automatically added to the playlist. |
Manual | A Manual playlist allows you to create and order a static list of videos. Unless you update the playlist, neither the list of videos nor the video order changes after the playlist has been created. Manual playlists are limited to a maximum of 500 videos.
You can use manual playlists to feature videos you want to display in a specific order. |
Search | A Search playlist creates a list of videos in your library based on a keyword search. Search playlists are limited to a maximum of 100 videos. |
Article Matching | An Article Matching playlist inserts contextually relevant videos into your articles. Article Matching playlists are limited to a maximum of 100 videos. |
Recommendations | A Recommendations or feed playlist serves videos based on the first video that a viewer watches. The recommendations are selected by using a blend of two proprietary methodologies: a version of association rule mining and content similarity of videos. Recommendations playlists are limited to a maximum of 100 videos.
If the recommendations algorithm cannot find any videos using the methodologies above, trending videos are served. |
